The Milgis Lugga is the huge seasonal river that winds its way between the Matthews range and the Ndoto mountains. The main source of this impressive Lugga is in the Kirisia hills on the eastern Rift valley wall, 100 kms to the west.

The Milgis flows into the Kaisut Desert 100 km to the east of these exceptionally dramatic mountains, making this ecosystem about 4000 square kilometres. The wildlife is beautiful, with the endangered Grevy’s zebra, rare Debrazza monkeys, with the possibility of many more undiscovered living creatures, in this unexplored and remote area.
